Come Ride the Scenic Countryside near Stowe, Vermont! Join NCAL's ride for the animals Saturday, August 22nd, 2009, at the Commodores Inn parking lot on Route 100, South Village, Stowe, Vermont. The annual Pedal for Paws event offers a choice of three classic bicycle rides through the scenic countryside of North Central Vermont starting in Stowe and traveling through quaint villages and rolling farmland. The route is strategically designed to avoid big hill climbs but still afford major views of the Green and Worcester mountain ranges and enough challenge to satisfy all levels of riders from recreational to seasoned road cyclists. Why? The purpose of the ride is to raise funds for the North Country Animal League and awareness of the wonderful services NCAL provides to orphaned cats and dogs. Riders can choose from the 100 mile Century, the 60 mile Metric Century and the 25 mile Fun Ride. Who? You don’t have to be a cyclist to participate in Pedal for Paws! When the cyclists return to the Commodores Inn, there will be a BBQ, vendors, raffle prizes and music to enjoy from 1:30 p.m. onwards. The BBQ is free for riders, $20 per non-rider adult and $10 for non-rider children. So come on out and support the orphaned animals at NCAL. See you at The Commodores Inn on August 22nd. Registration Information Registrations will close ONLINE at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 21st. You can still register or donate, though, at the event. Registration at the Commodores Inn begins at 7 a.m. Saturday, August 22nd. See schedule for ride times. Riders are asked to collect "pledges" for the event's beneficiary, the dogs and cats at the North Country Animal League shelter. Learn more on our Register or Pledge page.
