Routes: Century, Metric Century, Fun Ride & Tips

Pedal for Paws gives cyclists three ride options. There will be four rest stops along the Century Route,  two along the Metric Century and one along the fun ride where riders can take a break, have a snack and top off their water bottles. The rest stops are also an opportunity to "reassemble" groups of riders who have gotten spread out along the route. Here's what riders can expect:

The Century Ride

The Century route begins in the quintessential Vermont resort town of Stowe. From Stowe, the route heads north through Morrisville, then on to Hyde Park and up Route 100 through Eden to Troy. There the route turns east to Coventry and then south on Route 14 where the route passes through scenic Craftsbury to Wolcott Road. Next the route heads west on Route 15 to Rt 15A into Morrisville and finishes by heading south on Randolph Road into Stowe.

The Metric Century Ride

The Metric Century follows the same route out as the Century Ride but turns west in Eden on Route 118, then to Route 109 towards Waterville. From 109 the route follows the Hogback Road to Route 15 East in  Johnson back to Hyde Park and Morrisville, returning south on Randolph Road which takes riders back to Stowe.

The Fun Ride

The Fun Ride follows the same route to start but turns east on Route 15 in Hyde Park then south on Route 15A in Morrisville and follows Randolph Road back to Stowe. When back in Stowe the course does a tour around Stowe ending up back at the Start/Finish.

Training Tips

Both novice and experienced riders should prepare for the ride by building up their training regimen in the weeks leading up to the ride. If you want to learn more about riding in cycling events, check out the wealth of tips and information on Active.com.
