NCAL’s Annual Fund
A gift to our Annual Fund is critical to NCAL’s long-term sustainability as NCAL relies solely on private donations to cover the majority of our annual operating budget. Public support accounts for approximately 69% of our annual funding covering animal care, administrative an development expenses, veterinary services, community outreach program and retail.
The average cost of caring for an animal in 2018 was $944 and covered medical evaluation, spay or neuter, vaccinations, a microchip, enrichment and love, among other services listed below:
- Dogs: Spay or Neuter surgery; NCAL ID tag; De-worming; Heartworm test; Heartworm preventative; Bordetella & DA2PPV vaccinations; Rabies vaccine (if 12 weeks or older); Flea preventative; Microchipping; Temperment testing; Ear cleaning & nail trimming; Dental exam and care; Free vet exam.
- Cats: Spay or Neuter surgery; NCAL ID tag; De-worming; Rabies vaccination (if 12 weeks or older); FVRCP vaccination; Flea preventative; Microchipping; Feline Leukemia test and FIV test; Ear cleaning & nail trimming; Dental exam and care; Free vet exam.
