NCAL’s Medical Fund

Each year, North Country Animal League takes in homeless dogs, cats and horses who have needs that far surpass our budget for basic care. In situations like these, we turn to our Medical Fund, which is kept replenished by donations that we raise to help vulnerable animals in critical condition that need urgent care, often requiring emergency surgeries. Without the Medical Fund, we would have been unable to help animals like Mari or Crawford, two of hundreds of animals that are supported through this fund each year.
Donate to NCAL’s Emergency Fund by completing in the donation form below or sending an email to: info@ncal.com.

Or donate by mailing a check to:

Mari’s time was up. This sweet and gentle senior mare spent her life as a polo pony. Due to a bowed tendon in her front left leg, she was no longer useful to her owner and would have been euthanized had someone not spoken up and informed us of her situation. With a host of issues, Mari will need veterinary care and hoof care to get healthy again. Please consider sponsoring Mari through NCAL’s Medical Fund to help her get the second chance she deserves. More on Mari’s story here.

While Crawford is now in his home where he will spend the the remainder of his days being cared for, our guess is that his life before NCAL was a sad one. Found abandoned in a field early this summer, he came to us in poor condition and suffering from excruciating pain as a result of a series of health complications. It’s hard to imagine everything he had been through but we are glad that the kind stranger who found him, knew to bring him to us right away so he could have access to the resources and care he needed to survive and thrive.
