Mountain Hounds Hiking Program

The Mountain Hounds Hiking Program is a new initiative that allows community members such as yourself to take our shelter dogs on hikes! Not only do these outings present an opportunity for community members to have fun excursions and deserved outdoor therapy, but they also give our dogs awaiting homes much-needed socialization and exposure. This helps to enrich their daily lives at the shelter and increases their likelihood of getting adopted, which will in turn, reduce overall animal length of stay and help NCAL save more lives.

PLEASE NOTE: Those who are interested must apply online, after which applicants will need to attend an orientation. Each outing will need to be signed up for in advance by a volunteer whose application has been approved and s/he has attended training for this program.
