Morning Chore Assistant – Equine Center

What do I need to be a volunteer at NCAL?:
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination • A minimum 3 month commitment • Must be at least 16 years of age • Must have an email address • Volunteers must fill out an application below • Must complete orientation and applicable training • Must pay $10 volunteer fee
What skills do I need to be a Morning Chore Assistant?
• Ability to stand for long periods of time • Have experience working with horses previously • Ability to commit to a schedule • Comfortable lifting over 20lbs. • Must have reliable transportation • Ability to follow directions • Friendly and warm personality • Must be 16 years and older to volunteer without parent/ guardian
What are the volunteer hours for this position?
This position is available Mondays through Saturdays, between 8:30-11am. The shift hours change seasonally and will be updated in May.
Position Responsibilities
• Emptying water buckets • Cleaning Stalls when trained or qualified • Sweeping/Blowing Aisles • Stacking Hay • Bedding stalls • Clearing Aisles • Assisting with turnout when trained or qualified • Assisting with other general barn tasks as assigned
