How much are the adoption fees, and what do the fees cover?

DOG ADOPTION FEES

Puppies (under 1 year): $475
Young adults (1 to 3 years): $350
Adults (3 to 8 years): $275
Seniors (8 years +): $200

CAT ADOPTION FEES

Kittens (under 1 year): $250
Young adults (1 to 3 years): $175
Adults (3 to 8 years): $100
Seniors (8 years +): $75
Barn Cat: $50

*Fees are subject to change.

*To participate in the Senior-to-Senior program, dogs and cats must be 8 years or older and adopters must be 65 years or older.

*Animals listed as “Pronature Pals” are sponsored by Pet Food Warehouse and are available for adoption at no cost.

What the adoption fee covers

Every animal that comes to NCAL receives a medical evaluation, spay or neuter, vaccinations, a microchip, enrichment and love.

DOGS

  • Spay or Neuter surgery
  • NCAL ID tag
  • Microchipping
  • De-worming
  • Heartworm test and preventative
  • Bordetella and DA2PPV vaccinations
  • Rabies vaccine (if 12 weeks or older)
  • Flea preventative
  • Ear cleaning and nail trimming
  • Vet exam

CATS

  • Spay or Neuter surgery
  • NCAL ID tag
  • Microchipping
  • De-worming
  • Flea preventative
  • Rabies vaccine (if 12 weeks or older)
  • FVRCP vaccination
  • Feline Leukemia test
  • FIV test
  • Ear cleaning and nail trimming
  • Vet exam
