When Florida arrived at NCAL in February, she was unsure of why she suddenly found herself in the unfamiliar shelter setting. While her ears would perk up & she would accept treats & gentle pets from staff – she remained timid. Florida had a lot of love to offer; she just needed a chance to find her spot in a happy forever home.

That chance came for Florida when she met with a family who visited NCAL looking for a kitty to join their household.

Florida recently went home with her new family, which includes two little girls who are excited to be Florida’s new human siblings. After her first night in her new home, Florida’s Mom shared that while Florida was nervous she was starting to come around. “She slept with my daughter for a little while last night and is currently hanging out in the living room on the recliner. Florida is such a sweet girl! She is adjusting nicely. We wanted to thank all of you at NCAL for this special lady!
