Dear friends,

NCAL is pleased to announce Jacques Du Preez as the new Executive Director. Jacques brings over 20 years of business development and marketing experience to Vermont. He holds community, advocacy, and education at the forefront of his values.

Jacques most recently served as Monadnock Humane Society’s Director of Development and Marketing in Swanzey, NH, and the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Essex County Habitat for Humanity in Danvers, MA. In his years prior, he worked as a Marketing, Fundraising, and Development Consultant for High Country Humane in Arizona, as well as the Marketing and Donor Database Manager for Santa Maria Valley Humane Society in California.

“The NCAL board of directors is excited to welcome Jacques to NCAL and to Vermont. During the interview process, he demonstrated all of the qualities we were looking for in our next leader. Jacques brings vast experience in shelter management, proven success in communications and development, a commitment to the community, and a passion for animal welfare. His enthusiasm is infectious and we are pleased he has joined us.” said John Miller, President of NCAL’s Board of Directors.

In his new role as Executive Director, Jacques will oversee operations at NCAL’s Pet Adoption Center and Equine Center, working closely with staff, board members, donors, and the community in support of NCAL’s mission to promote compassionate and responsible relationships between humans and animals. His expansive background and deep passion for both animal welfare and business will help chart a path forward, driving NCAL into its next chapter. “I am thrilled to join the team at North Country Animal League. As the new Executive Director, I am committed to serving the animals and people in our community with compassion and dedication. I look forward to working alongside our staff, volunteers, and supporters to make a positive impact on the lives of the animals we care for, and to build a stronger, more compassionate community for all.”, said Jacques.

Jacques studied Marketing and Business Management, and Creative Conferencing and Event Management at Damelin College in Cape Town, South Africa. Most recently, he received a certificate in Professional Fundraising from Boston University. He is relocating to Vermont from Orange, Massachusetts with his wife Steph, his two children, three dogs, two cats, fifteen chickens, and a gecko named Todd. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Jacques, and in wishing him all the best as he begins his new journey with us.

Jacques succeeds Tracy Goldfine who assumed the role of Executive Director in 2016.
